T Qwabe Foundation brings cheer for disaster victims

TQwabe Foundation (NPO) hosted a Christmas lunch and gave gifts to the Richards Bay disaster victims. The gifts were welcomed by the beneficiaries who attended the get together at the Breckenham community hall, last Christmas. The foundation was touched by the victims current situation and decided to host an event filled with laughter, good food and games. We incorporated the event around each family. Each tent was decorated with a Christmas theme, to bring out cheer. The families were provided with a scrumptious mean which included mutton mince biryani, carrot salad, roast chicken, savoury rice, chutney, chill baja and just pies.

We had various games during the Christmas lunch. The games we played included puzzles, musical chairs and dance competitions. We also included a piñata and jumping castles, which was enjoyed by the children on the day. They also enjoyed the set up for our photo shoot, where Mr Qwabe presented himself as Santa Claus for the day.

Filled with gratitude, the victims thanked all volunteers and sponsors who made the post Christmas event a success. The foundation is also looking to hosting a fun-day and are hoping that we can make this a reality through donations and sponsors. We are in need of donations and sponsors. These donations can either be cash or items that is needed. Things that are needed for the fun day are braai packs, savouries, cool drinks, games, prizes, beauty services, movie night and most importantly your time.
