Policy Statement:
T Qwabe Foundation is committed to addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. We recognize the importance of prevention, care, support, and advocacy in combating the spread of HIV/AIDS and improving the quality of life for those affected. This policy outlines our approach to HIV/AIDS programming and our commitment to promoting education, awareness, and comprehensive support services.
1. Prevention:
1.1. Education and Awareness: T Qwabe Foundation will conduct regular awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions to promote HIV/AIDS education, prevention methods, and encourage healthy behaviours within the community.
1.2. Distribution of Information: We will disseminate accurate and up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS, including transmission, prevention, and available resources through various channels, including print materials, digital media, and community outreach programs.
1.3. Condom Distribution: We will make condoms easily accessible, free of charge, and provide information on their proper use as an effective method of preventing HIV transmission.
2. Testing and Counselling:
2.1. Voluntary Testing: T Qwabe Foundation will promote voluntary HIV testing and counselling services to encourage early detection and facilitate access to appropriate care and treatment.
2.2. Confidentiality: Confidentiality of test results and client information will be strictly maintained, ensuring privacy and non-discrimination for individuals seeking testing and counselling services.
2.3. Psychosocial Support: We will provide counselling services to individuals who test positive for HIV/AIDS, offering emotional support, guidance, and referrals to relevant healthcare services.
3. Care and Support:
3.1. Treatment Access: T Qwabe Foundation will advocate for universal access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and support services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, ensuring they receive the necessary medical care and treatment.
3.2. Support Groups: We will establish support groups to provide a safe space for individuals living with HIV/AIDS to share experiences, receive emotional support, and access information on managing their health and well-being.
3.3. Home-Based Care: T Qwabe Foundation will develop and implement home-based care programs to support individuals with advanced stages of HIV/AIDS who may require assistance with daily living activities.
4. Advocacy and Collaboration:
